the Dordogne region is simply stunning and we fell in love with the area.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">We viewed a few Chateaux nearby but Chateau du Raysse really stood out for us \u2013 the views, the castle and the surroundings are all absolutely beautiful.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">It was also one of the only Chateaux in the area which could accommodate all our guests and had en-suite facilities, so from a practical point of view it was exactly what we wanted.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">However, we knew that we couldn\u2019t legally marry in France so we decided to go to our local registry office in the UK with my mum and fianc\u00e9\u2019s grandmother as witnesses \u2013 it was still really special and then we had a lovely day out in the countryside afterwards.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section under the Chateau\u2019s tower.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">All our family and friends were there and we were able to have the ceremony include our own wording as it didn\u2019t need to follow a legal script \u2013 making it really unique and personal. We also had some lovely readings, including one from my best friend.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">The celebrant presented us with a certificate at the end of the ceremony which was a great touch.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Doing things the way we did meant that we had the romantic ceremony I had always dreamed of but without any hassle of having a legal ceremony in France \u2013 UK, married at the Chateau du Raysse in May 2019. They went through the process outlined in Option 1 \u2013 having a very small civil ceremony in the UK before their \u2018walk down the aisle\u2019 wedding a week later.<\/p><p>\u201cWe had always wanted to get married in France and the Dordogne region is simply stunning and we fell in love with the area.<\/p><p>We viewed a few Chateaux nearby but Chateau du Raysse really stood out for us \u2013 the views, the castle and the surroundings are all absolutely beautiful.<\/p><p>It was also one of the only Chateaux in the area which could accommodate all our guests and had en-suite facilities, so from a practical point of view it was exactly what we wanted.<\/p><p>However, we knew that we couldn\u2019t legally marry in France so we decided to go to our local registry office in the UK with my mum and fianc\u00e9\u2019s grandmother as witnesses \u2013 it was still really special and then we had a lovely day out in the countryside afterwards.<\/p><p>\u201cFor our main ceremony in France, we had a fantastic celebrant who conducted the most beautiful ceremony under the Chateau\u2019s tower.<\/p><p>All our family and friends were there and we were able to have the ceremony include our own wording as it didn\u2019t need to follow a legal script \u2013 making it really unique and personal.
