Terms & Conditions

In general the terms of guest contracts have been laid out on the website https://www.châteauduraysse.com and in subsequent correspondence between the parties and representatives of the owners. Château du Raysse is as described therein.

Bookings automatically have a check in time of 16h and check out time of 10h unless otherwise agreed in writing. A late checkout fee may incur if the guests are still on site after this time unless previously arranged with the Château’s manager.

The pre-arrival form must be completed at least two weeks before the group’s arrival at the Château and returned via email to Chateauduraysse@gmail.com. The maximum number of guests for a wedding or other celebration is 90. Guests must be respectful of neighbours at all times, in particular with regards to noise. The legal maximum for guests numbers inside the Hall at any one time is 99 people.

Linen, towels, tourist tax and the end of stay cleaning fee are included for each of the properties.

A 35% deposit is required to secure a booking. Contracts will only be valid once the deposit is received. Balance payments are due eight weeks before arrival at the Chateau. Confirmation of each payment should be sent to Châteauduraysse@gmail.com in order to receive a receipt.

A security deposit (cheque de caution) for €1000.00 is required to be sent via bank transfer at least two weeks before the group’s arrival at the Château. This will be returned in full within four weeks via bank transfer if the Château is left in a satisfactory state, however any breakages and additional cleaning costs will be deducted where completely necessary. The deposit will be forfeited if rubbish is left on site or if complaints are made by the Mairie due to excessive noise levels.

The owners are not responsible for damage caused by the negligence or recklessness of any guests. Any dispute under this contract and any claim made relating to the stay of the group or any one of them shall be resolved according to the laws of France and in the French legal system. Groups must understand that they take full legal responsibility for any damage caused to Château du Raysse and its contents not arising from ordinary wear and tear.

Château du Raysse is let as accommodation. Weddings and other events must be conducted lawfully and with normal respect to neighbours. The Château is fit for purpose. All bookings are taken in good faith.

There is a strict cut-off time of 10pm for music outdoors, after this point, music must be taken inside, this includes hired PA systems, bands, musicians and DJs sets. The Maison Garden is the principal area for music/dancing outside before 10pm and music should be moved from other areas of the estate to this space by 7pm. For pool parties, only portable speakers are permitted by the pool area and the second pool near the Pigeonnier Garden should be used when music is being played and noise levels should not exceed 70 decibels. For all other areas and types of music, please remember to be mindful of noise levels disturbing our neighbours. The business reserves the right to change restrictions as necessary in accordance with the Mairie and local legislation.

Inside the Hall, the only PA system to be used is the one provided by the Château. DJs and bands can plug into the system’s equaliser as needed. The PA system is fitted with a sound limiter.

The pool must only be used during daylight hours for safety reasons. Use of the pool outside of this time will forfeit the security deposit. Children must be accompanied at all times. Use of the pools is at the groups’ own risk.

The parties will be responsible for damage to the premises or loss of or damage to any items in the premises, including but without limiting the generality of the foregoing, floor coverings, furniture and fittings, kitchen utensils, crockery, glassware, cutlery and they undertake to pay the full cost of replacement or repair of any such items damaged or lost less any relevant security deposit withheld. All damage, breakages or losses are to be reported to the agent immediately. All furnishings and equipment must be left in the premises as originally found.

The Château must be left in a clean and tidy state (including but not limited to the emptying of all bins and removal of any rubbish from the estate, washing up and replacement of moved items). It is the group’s responsibility to ensure that any relevant areas are prepared and made suitable for their caterers and other suppliers (for example by providing sufficient fridge space and clean worktops in the kitchens). Failure to do so may result in an additional cleaning fee.

Any rental items ordered by the group (including marquees and furniture) must be collected by suppliers before the group’s check-out time.

Fireworks are not permitted unless permission is granted from the Mairie. Candles can only be used outdoors. You are welcome to use battery tealights. The only fireplace available for use is in the Château’s dining room and logs can be purchased if required.

Accessibility – please note that the Château is an historic building and cannot be adapted for accessible use. There are many uneven surfaces and steps around the estate. It is at the individual’s discretion to assess if the Château is suitable for their requirements.

Camping – camping (tents or in caravans/motorhomes) is not permitted on the estate.

No liability is accepted by owners or their agents for any injury, debt, damage, loss, delay, expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events beyond the control of the owners or their agents.

Any repairs, maintenance or service reported and requested by guests to be effected to the property or any equipment provided at the property, and/or deemed necessary by the owners or their agents, will be effected as soon as practicable, however no recompense will be negotiated due to the failure of any services or equipment at the property provided reasonable effort has been made by the owners or their agents to secure such services or equipment.

Guests are required to allow repair and or service personnel to enter the premises during reasonable hours (by arrangement unless an emergency situation could exist or arise) for the purpose of conducting any repairs, maintenance or service. Guests requesting a service call which is subsequently found not to be required will be charged the applicable service call-out fee. All parties understand that any services provided on the Château estate, except cleaning, are the subject of separate contracts with the service-providers.

Any dispute under this contract and any claim made relating to the stay of the group or any one of them shall be resolved according to the laws of France and in the French legal system.
