You can never have too many questions when it comes to your wedding day!
Here are some answers to the most common queries we’ve had from the many couples we’ve worked with.

What does the venue rental price include?

Booking a wedding or event at Château du Raysse includes complete exclusive access to the Estate. The du Raysse Estate comprises of the Château, the Maison du Parc and the Pigeonnier apartment. In total we offer 15 beautiful and unique ensuite bedrooms and then another two bedrooms with one bathroom in the apartment. We can comfortably sleep up to 38 guests.
During your stay, you and your guests can enjoy two kitchens, dining area, library/living room, hall, two swimming pools and beautiful grounds. We can provide children’s cots and mattresses in the rooms at no extra cost and several of the rooms are perfect for families.
The rental price excludes catering.

Will I need to hire my own tables and chairs?

Although we have plenty of tables and chairs at the Château for general use, if you would like everything to match for your special day then we recommend Chapiteaux en Perigord, as one of the many excellent suppliers in the area. They have plenty of styles to choose from and can provide beautiful marquees as well as tables and chairs and other furniture. We have a list of recommended suppliers here to help you organise other elements of your big day.

How many guests can I invite to my wedding?

Our maximum capacity is for 100 guests – although bookings of up to 120 guests may be permitted at our discretion and with certain recommendations. For an outdoor ceremony and reception we would suggest that the Château’s gardens (front and back lawn) would be suitable for up to 100 people with a marquee.
If you’re planning to use the Maison’s hall for an indoor reception, this is an excellent option for a Plan B and can be used for your ceremony and dining for up to 70 guests or it can also be used in the evening for dancing as it leads out onto the large balcony area.
We can make suggestions about where the ceremony and reception would work best for your guest numbers and help you find the right suppliers in the area.

Are there other places nearby where my wedding guests can stay?

We can host up to 38 guests on site, and we’re lucky enough to have lots of hotels and excellent Airbnb accommodation nearby. There are numerous other properties in the village which are available on Airbnb and there are some lovely hotels in Souillac which is just five minutes away. In addition, there is a pretty campsite a fifteen minute walk from the Château.

Is there a curfew?

You can carry on your celebrations until whatever time you wish, but we politely request that outside noise must be kept to a minimum after 10pm. The Estate is situated in a small commune and we must be respectful of our neighbours. 

During the day, DJs and musicians can set up on the front lawn or in the Maison Garden, as these areas are on the more secluded side of the Estate and disruption to the neighbourhood is significantly reduced.

After 10pm, we request that all DJs and bands/musicians/speakers and PA systems are moved inside and celebrations are moved indoors – the event hall above the Maison du Parc is the perfect space for dancing! 

Can I bring my own drink?

Yes. Once again, we pride ourselves on our flexibility and our rental price includes exclusive hire of the venue, meaning that it is completely yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay. Therefore there are no limits on bringing alcohol on site (within reason!) so guests can provide their own drink for weddings and events. We also do not charge corkage. We can recommend some excellent local vineyards to supply wine for your special occasion

Do you offer catering?

As a venue, we offer excellent flexibility. You can use the Château as a dry hire venue as the estate can be used as you wish and therefore there are no restrictions on catering. This means you can choose your own caterers or we can help recommend suppliers who would best suit your requirements.
